Fourth of July

It's become a yearly tradition of mine to prepare Sangria every Fourth of July to accompany our bbq-ing festivities.

My simple and easy Sangria Ingredients:
1 bottle of wine (any red wine will work-- merlot, cabernet)
1 Lemon
1 Lime
1 Apple
1 Orange
1 bottle of Club Soda

Pour red wine into a pitcher.  Cut up all your fruits and squeeze them into the pitcher of wine leaving the leftover skins in the pitcher.  You can leave some nicely sliced oranges and apples for visual appeal.  Chill over night.  Pour sangria over ice and add in a splash of club soda.

Voila! Refreshing Sangria.

Enjoy!

Blue Skies and Sunshine...

is the weather today, and practically everyday here, plus the humid humid humidity..

Once a month the boy and I engage in a dinner/lunch date.  Since we rarely eat out, we take this opportunity to explore new places to eat and to simply talk about 'stuff'.   This month I decided to do a mini pinic at the park, while relaxing under a shaded tree with a nice calm breeze.

On the menu:  Salmon Naan for myself, and steak sandwich for him. Bon Apetit!

I've been meaning to make my homemade version of Mix Cafe's salmon naan that they perfectly create-- will provide recipe when trial version is a success.

My summer staple wardrobe:
Anything White --- white shorts, white blouse, white anything
A simple, casual chic button-down blouse
Neutral heels/wedges
Black sunnies -- wayferers or cat eye

All about the Leather

In need of a new leather clutch. I've exhausted my Marc Jacobs and I would like to give it some rest.  Saw this a couple weeks ago on Shopbop and started to drool. Alexander Wang's Jena clutch.

Also salivating on this neutral color leather pants I saw online this morning.. Such a different approach to the norm black leather pants.

Must. Get. Soon. Now.

Tibi love

I wish I could own everything from Tibi's Spring 2010 collection... such vibrant colors and patterns for summer.

  I'm especially in love with:

1. Calla Lily Puff sleeve dress
2. Flower print silk shorts
3. Silk Blazer
4.  Mix of blues and reds & pinks and blues.  Mix of colors unimaginable putting on one self

I die for all these items in my very own closet..  Got inspired by the pop of colors on the runway so decided to add a punch of color to my abstract black and white dress wtih my yellow cardigan for Fathers Day.

When the sun goes down

Decided to be a rebel and go out on a weeknight and ended up coming home at 1:30am and having to wake up in 5 hours for work was not exciting.

Finally found a pair of trousers and decided to wear them out that night and wearing my new favorite  accessory that I practically wear to death these days -- my gold chain link bracelet I found at Banana Republic this past weekend. Again, my tiny wrist causes them dangle alittle too low on my wrist. Sigh.

(Urban Trousers, Blouse from LA, Aldo Wedges, BR bracelet)

On the look out for:
Anything Nude, coral or light pink tops and bottoms
Menswear watch
Another pair of trousers
More accessories
... the list goes on.

Father's Day is just around the corner..I anticipate food, food and more FOOD :)

Reflection

I've been wanting to get my own full length mirror for quite some time.   Unfortunately having no IKEA here, I made a trip down to Inspiration this past weekend eagerly anticipating to find my perfect mirror.

I was looking for something along these lines .... Dark wood framing.

I love furniture shopping!! I could do it every weekend. To my disappointment, I couldn't find this particular style so I bought the closest thing to it.  Overall, satisfied with my purchase.  Combination of dark wood and stainless steel framing. Love.

Don't mind the clutter and the missing curtains/blinds in the room.  We're still trying to move in and decorate.

I think I've found a passion.. or perhaps it's just a hobby? I love remodeling and redecorating interior and exterior spaces.  Working on renovating our outdoor patio.

Red White and Blue

Much needed 3 day weekend is finally here. Enjoying it with bbq grilling, eating and drinking.  Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Currently trying out a messy bun with loose wavy curls in the front -- inspiration from my style inspiration, Oliva Palermo.

Attempted to make my own Phillycheesesteak sandwich for lunch.  Trying to replicate DnB's philly cheesesteak which didn't turn out as good as I was imagining it to be, but the BF said it was deeeelicious, so I'll pat myself on the back.   Note to self: add more cheese.  Baked (not fried) some crispy fries. YUM.

Ingredients:
French bread
Mushrooms, onions, and green bell peppers
Thinly sliced ribeye
Provolone slices
Salt & Pepper
