Photo shoot

Photo and article about my style inspiration for Asos Magazine, Olivia Palermo. Hate her or love her, who cares, she has a crazy sense of style.

I dig it. I love it. I want it.

I want this maxi dress. Bad.  She also turned the maxi dress into a tunic.

I want this knotted shift dress. Really bad.

Neutral Nudes

Wanted to use shades of neutrals for my outfit this past weekend. Strolling down Waikiki strip feels like a mini getaway to venture into this part of town. The constant hustle and bustle of Waikiki was calm and quiet this particular night. This lead way to perusing store fronts without dodging tourists and street entertainers.

For a second I pondered if my outfit would look similar to a Safari-an... so I swapped out my brown belt with a black patent belt. This blouse is pretty sheer -- the bf commenting " I can see your bra". Thankfully, the humid weather allowed me to wear it that night. Sheer only meant the breeze flowing through me as if I was wearing nothing.

In touch with my roots

Headed down to the Korean Festival this weekend with the boy. After the 45 minutes of hunting for parking and stomach growling, we successfully headed to the park to get our foodie fix.

Despite the fluctuating weather, it ended up being a scorching day at the park while feasting on some mediocre food -- mandoo, kimchee pancake, spicy rice cake, kimbap and bubble drinks to cool down our body temperature.

I'm hoping the hot sun gave me a slight tan, but let's not bet on it.

Ended our day sipping on some cocktails, beer and pupus at the mall.  What a lovely weekend.

Fourth of July

It's become a yearly tradition of mine to prepare Sangria every Fourth of July to accompany our bbq-ing festivities.

My simple and easy Sangria Ingredients:
1 bottle of wine (any red wine will work-- merlot, cabernet)
1 Lemon
1 Lime
1 Apple
1 Orange
1 bottle of Club Soda

Pour red wine into a pitcher.  Cut up all your fruits and squeeze them into the pitcher of wine leaving the leftover skins in the pitcher.  You can leave some nicely sliced oranges and apples for visual appeal.  Chill over night.  Pour sangria over ice and add in a splash of club soda.

Voila! Refreshing Sangria.

Enjoy!

Blue Skies and Sunshine...

is the weather today, and practically everyday here, plus the humid humid humidity..

Once a month the boy and I engage in a dinner/lunch date.  Since we rarely eat out, we take this opportunity to explore new places to eat and to simply talk about 'stuff'.   This month I decided to do a mini pinic at the park, while relaxing under a shaded tree with a nice calm breeze.

On the menu:  Salmon Naan for myself, and steak sandwich for him. Bon Apetit!

I've been meaning to make my homemade version of Mix Cafe's salmon naan that they perfectly create-- will provide recipe when trial version is a success.

My summer staple wardrobe:
Anything White --- white shorts, white blouse, white anything
A simple, casual chic button-down blouse
Neutral heels/wedges
Black sunnies -- wayferers or cat eye
